What is CBD and how does it work?

CBD stands for cannabidiol and is one of over 100 naturally occurring cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant. Cannabinoids are chemical compounds that also occur naturally in the human body, and actively interact with cannabinoid receptors, CB-1 and CB-2, located throughout the body.

What is full-spectrum CBD?

If an extract is full-spectrum, this means it contains all of the compounds which are naturally occurring in the plant.  The compounds include CBD, multiple trace cannabinoids, terpenes, and essential oils. 

Full-spectrum extract from hemp has a very low THC content (below 0.3%).   Although non-psychoactive, full-spectrum CBD may have the potential to give a false positive during a drug test if you use very high doses of CBD oil daily.  Topical products are much less likely to give a false positive during a drug test.  

How long before I feel the effects of CBD?

The effects of CBD may be different for each person based on the height, weight, dosage, and the type of product used.  There are no intoxicating ingredients with CBD oil based products, so you may not “feel” the effects right away.  Start with a lower dose and continue use for at least 2 weeks and gradually increase dose until you reach the desired effects.  It is recommended to speak with a healthcare provider to help decide on what dose may be right for you.

How is hemp different from marijuana?

While hemp belongs to the same plant family as marijuana, also known as cannabis, hemp is defined by US law as cannabis having 0.3% or less delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content by dry weight, while marijuana does not have a limit on the amount of THC.

What dosage should I take?

Everyone is unique and each person may respond differently to a standard CBD dosage.  Research has shown that an effective daily dose is around 25 mg per day.  However, we recommend that new users of CBD products start with a lower dose and then use the dose that works best for your individual needs.  We recommend you speak with your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions before starting a CBD regimen.

Where is the CBD oil in Hemp Hill Pharm products produced?

Every drop of oil in our CBD products is produced using organic farming practices and starts with non-GMO hemp varieties.  Every plant is grown on our farm in Jackson, TN and cared for with the end user in mind.  All of our plants are hand harvested, dried under controlled conditions, and each flower is inspected for signs of mold or other damage before the CBD oil is extracted.  We take pride in the quality of hemp flower we grow and strive to get better with every growing season.  Follow us on Instagram:  @hemphillpharm to follow along with our growing process.
